Il fait 25°C, un beau soleil et la mer est bleue. Ici, point de platanes Provençaux, ni de rosiers, mais plutôt de gigantesques cactus, plusieurs mètres de haut, et à leur pied, de grosses boules hérissées de piques.
En réalité, l'impression que laisse ce premier contact serait plus proche de la côte mexicaine que celle de la manche.
Mais c'est pourtant en anglais que les gens se parlent, même si l'on surprend ici ou là des conversations en espagnol.

Les textes sur les panneaux, les enseignes sont eux pourtant bien en anglais. Et d'ailleurs, ce bus qui passe, il est rouge, et à impériale. Diantre ! Mais il roule à droite pourtant ?!
Et les policiers sont portent l'uniforme des bobies... Et la monnaie, ben, c'est la livre sterling.
Et les taxis, s'ils sont assez peu nombreux, acceptent aussi les euros. Mais attention, le change n'est pas très favorable au client...
En montant un peu vers la coline aux singes, on arrive rapidement dans le coeur de la ville, où la foule est disputée par de très nombreux commerces pratiquant des prix censés être imbattables : vous trouverez des appareils hi-fi, informatique, appareils phtoto, mais aussi vètements, et autres..

Au coin d'un embranchement, pous croisez une place, où les terrasses vous tendent les bras, promesse d'un rafraichissement bienvenu.
En redescendant vers la mer, et le détroit, vous pourrez contempler de très nombreux batiments maritimes de forte capacité croiser la côte.

While going up a little towards the monkeys mountain, one quickly arrives in the heart of the city, where crowd is disputed by very many trade practising of the supposed prices being unbeatable: you will find apparatuses hi-fi, computers, DLSRs, but also clothes, and others.

With the corner of a junction, you cross a place, where the terraces tighten you the arms, promise of a refreshing drink.
While going down again towards the sea, and the strait, you will be able to contemplate very many strong capacity ships crossing the coast.
