Georges Papageorges and his family, his wife Chrissante and his 4 daughters Jeanne, Marika, Chaterine and Caliopie was living in Occidental Anatolie on the right side of the Egean Sea for years when they were forced to leave under the pressure of Turk army led by Attaturk around 1918. They crossed the sea to Samos Island.
Georges lonely got to France looking for a job. Once he got established as a haire dresser in the south of france he was authorized to have his family there, around 1925. They all established first at La Seyne-sur-Mer, then in Avignon.

Built by J. Priestman and Company, Sunderland, Scotland, 1907. 6,045 gross tons; 400 (bp) feet long; 50 feet wide.
Steam triple expansion engines, twin screw.  Service speed 13 knots.  1,700 passengers (100 first class, 100 second class, 1,500 third class).
Built for Hellenic Transportation Line, Greek flag, in 1907 and renamed Moraitis. Piraeus-New York service. Renamed Themistocles in 1908. Scrapped in 1933.
